We’d seen flashes of Superkilen in Copenhagen guides, but had never ventured into Nørrebro on any of our previous visits – so this time, it was top of our “To Do” list. We did a tour of all the main installations (great for photo ops) on a sunny Saturday morning and then moved on to the other important tasks, namely eating.
We had lunch at Cafe Auto – we’d heard good things and it was well placed. We sat outside, and I had the Grækeren salad (gettin’ myself ready for a trip to Greece next week!). We wandered past lots more eateries that we made a note to explore in this area on future visits – including GRØD, Relæ and the Nordisk Brødhus.
The rest of our trip was spent eating our way across the Meatpacking District, an essential area to visit whilst in CPH. We enjoyed dinner at Kødbyens Fiskebar, which had (by the Meatpacking’s standards) an upmarket, sophisticated vibe – then headed across the street to the newly opened Warpigs Brewpub, the newest Mikkeller Bar venture specialising in beer and BBQ. Think thrash metal and seriously tasty ribs and you’ve got the Warpigs vibe down.
