I spent last week in Mykonos, Greece.

I’ve been to parts of Greece before, but this was definitely the most scenic place I’ve been yet with it’s classically Greek blue and white architecture enhanced by incredible sunscapes every evening at golden hour. We had the most relaxing time, mostly spent drinking a lot of prosecco and eating a lot of great Greek food. That and some scorching heat is really all I need on holiday.

We stayed at Cavo Tagoo, which played host to the most insane breakfast scenes, complete with an entire pastry and dessert table laid out every morning, which we went to bed eagerly thinking about every evening. We also ate at their Japanese restaurant Kiku on our last night, which definitely deserved a round of applause.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a selection of great meals whilst on Mykonos: one of the most memorable was lunch spent at Kiki’s taverna (without electricity), of which we had heard good things. It looked down over a pretty, secluded beach set in a little cove, and by the time we had finished our meal, a queue was forming.

Between various intervals spent eating, we tried to allocate some time to culture – must see’s include the island of Delos (an ancient archaeological site) and the beautiful whitewashed Church of Panagia Paraportiani (pictured above).

The only regret? I never did meet the infamous Mykonos pelican…
