Bethnal Green
J.Crew Shirt, Marni Sandals
A few days ago, a standard gloomy London morning called for a coffee stop at the Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green followed by a wander through Shoreditch. Sadly we didn’t meet their resident greyhound, a justified basis for a return trip I think.
BURBERRY MAKERS HOUSE

“A celebration of methods, materials and makers”
Blazer from & Other Stories, Slides from Henry Kole, Hat from Asos
Following the September 2016 runway show, for one week, Burberry transformed a former Foyle’s bookstore into a cafe and showroom to celebrate the launch of their new collection. The London show venue was opened to the public and made home to a different group of Britain’s finest makers each day, who could be seen practicing their craft. These ranged from sculpting and embroidery to caligraphy and miniature portraiture. Not only this, but there was the chance to see the collection up close.
We loved how interactive Makers House was, and it was so inspiring to see how the collection was brought to life. Even better was the joy of finishing off the experience with a coffee and some cake from the beautiful Thomas’s cafe cake table – and a trip into the studio photobooth before the line got too long!
Watch the Burberry Show on here via youtube which was hosted at Makers House – the music is out of this world.
SWITCH HOUSE

Uniqlo dress, Marni sandals, Celine Sunglasses
I visited the Tate Modern’s new building, Switch House last weekend. It was only a flying visit where we did a quick overview of the new galleries, got a coffee at Albion and then onto brunch at the Mondrian down the road. I am definitley booking in to go back to see the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit that is currently on at the main gallery when I’m not preocupied with finding the best hangover cure possible – FYI the Mondrian’s breakfast burrito did the trick…

– Gran Canaria –
Reformation Dress, Marni Sandals, Cos Bikini, Rodebjer dress & Hay Fan
I had attempted to go on holiday to Portugal back in May, where it decided to torrential rain the entire week we were there. Came home three days early. Pale.
So last weekend, desperately seeking sun, we decided – perhaps in a slightly unstable, yet I like to think spontaneous mindset – to go to Spain for a long weekend. The Sheraton Salobre resort in Gran Canaria provided the perfect pink desert retreat to show off my favourite Marni sandals and get us sufficiently burnt in the process. We managed to snag a cabana on our last day which made leaving even more painfull and with the addition of a trip to the spa and fully stocked breakfast buffet, I wished I could have stayed longer.
ICELANDIC THROWBACK
Posted on January 5, 2016
Here’s a throwback tour through my travels in Iceland a couple of months ago…
Some girlfriends and I rented an Airbnb apartment in central Reykjavik and spent three nights exploring both the city itself – and some of the ethereal landscapes further afield. We covered the main tourist spots, but really want to return to see some of the locations further afield, like Vik.
Reykjavik is totally walkable and we discovered some great hangouts (see guide below) within a short stroll’s distance from our flat:
Mikkeller & Friends (the unnamed pizza restaurant upstairs is worth the wait)
The sights:
At the Blue Lagoon, we risked death to our phones to snap selfies (one mobile was successfully dunked) and overcame a fear of showering naked just to tick this off our list…
On the Golden Circle tour, we visited Thingvellir National Park, the Geysers and Gullfoss Waterfall. Sadly no puffin sightings, but we did enjoy complimentary songs performed by the tour guide.
We also stopped by the Harpa Concert Hall for the beautiful architecture and the serene views over the water.
Still continuing a tour of Scandinavia – any recommendations welcome!

WEEKEND THINGS

Flicking through Styleby magazine this weekend that my sister bought home from CPH recently, a nice treat because you can’t get it here in England. I also made this Christmas pretty angel courtesy of Danish Jewellery designer Ole Lynggaard. Getting into the spirit!
